Compassionate Support Worker Role

We are seeking a dedicated female support worker to join our small team at Cumberland House, a 12-bed women's only crisis accommodation in the West End of Newcastle.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about delivering high-quality support to vulnerable individuals. As a night support worker, you will play a vital role in creating a safe and welcoming environment for our residents.

The successful candidate will work on a rolling rota: 3 nights on, 3 nights off. Shifts include weekday evenings from 10:00 pm to 8:00 am and weekend shifts from 8:00 pm to 8:00 am.

About The Job

This is a challenging yet rewarding role that requires empathy, understanding, and excellent communication skills. You will be working with women who have experienced homelessness or are at risk of homelessness, providing them with the support and guidance they need to rebuild their lives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver high-quality support to residents during night shifts, ensuring their physical and emotional needs are met.
Essential Qualifications & Expectations:
  • Able to work independently and as part of a small team, demonstrating strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work 3 nights on, 3 nights off on a rolling rota; willingness to adapt to changing circumstances.
  • Committed to creating a safe, supportive environment for residents, promoting dignity and respect at all times.
