Are you a skilled horticulturist looking for a challenging role in open space asset maintenance? We have an exciting opportunity for a dedicated team member to join our parks and gardens division.

About the Role

  • As a Parks and Maintenance Team Member, you will be responsible for performing a range of horticultural tasks to maintain open space assets. This may include pruning, weeding, and applying fertilizers or pesticides as required.
  • You will operate a variety of equipment including mowers, trimmers, and attachments to ensure the upkeep of our parks and gardens.
  • Evaluating work requirements and recommending necessary actions to ensure compliance with standards is also an essential part of this role.
  • As a key member of our team, you will work independently without direct supervision, using your initiative and judgment to make decisions and take action when needed.
  • Operating and maintaining parks maintenance tools and equipment is a critical aspect of this position, and you must be able to do so safely and effectively.
  • Additionally, you will work within the Broad acre mowing team to maintain grass in reserves and roadsides.

Requirements

  • A Victorian Drivers Licence is required for this role.
  • Experience with small and medium horticultural equipment is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with herbicide use is also beneficial.
  • Hold a Trade Certificate (Level 3) in Horticulture or have relevant experience.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of vegetation management, landscape construction, and maintenance.
  • Select appropriate equipment and techniques for parks and garden maintenance.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills are essential for this role.
