Job Title: Leading Hand Open Space Maintenance

Job Description:

This role is responsible for overseeing the Open Space Maintenance Team, ensuring that team members carry out tasks efficiently and effectively.

The successful candidate will be responsible for scheduling maintenance activities across the municipality in coordination with other teams whose actions impact on maintenance activities and tasks.

As a key member of the team, your goal is to improve and maintain the quality of assets, gardens, parks, and sporting fields within available resources.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitoring productivity and quality of work within the team
  • Contributing to annual plans and budgets
  • Providing input into policy development and training employees in equipment use and techniques
  • Performing manual duties as required
  • Operating and monitoring maintenance requirements for plant, tools, and equipment
  • Responding to customer service requests

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Qualifications in Turf Management, Horticulture, or related discipline
  • Demonstrated ability to manage staff and contractors
  • Sound verbal and written skills, including report drafting and database maintenance
  • Experience in mowing plant and equipment maintenance
  • Current Victorian Driver's licence (including Truck Licence)
  • First Aid Level 2 desirable
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and GIS
