Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Open Space Project Manager to join our team. As a key member of the design and delivery team, you will play a vital role in bringing Glen Eira's Open Spaces to life.

The team is dedicated to excellence, striving for every project to be delivered on time and to the highest quality standards.

You will manage contracts and support the delivery of capital works and renewal projects related to Open Space areas.

  • Manage workflows from administration to construction and help bring new ideas to life in our parks and public spaces.
  • Work closely with contractors and teams to ensure projects stay on track and meet performance targets.
  • Assist in the delivery of Capital Works Projects, including design, construction, and renewal works for Open Space areas.
  • Monitor financial targets, report on contract performance, and ensure all projects align with Glen Eira's objectives.
  • Oversight of external contracts to ensure contractors meet performance goals and compliance standards.
  • Coordinate meetings with contractors and community stakeholders, ensuring the community is engaged in relevant consultation sessions.

To succeed in this role, you will need a solid background in project management, particularly in recreation and open space projects.

Required Skills and Qualifications

A qualification in Sports or Recreation Management, Project Management, or relevant experience in contract management and project administration is required.

Demonstrated experience in undertaking project-based work, contract management, and asset management is also necessary.

Ability to review detailed capital works designs and contract specifications, providing advice and feedback or searching for solutions as required.
