Open Space Asset Maintenance Opportunity

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Landscape and Playspace Officer.

Job Details:

This role involves maintaining Council's open space assets in a supportive team-based environment. You will be responsible for installing and maintaining landscape assets, performing minor landscaping and construction tasks, reinstating nature strips, and inspecting, maintaining, and repairing playgrounds.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install and maintain landscape assets including plants, trees, and other hardscapes
  • Perform minor landscaping and unsealed path construction and maintenance tasks
  • Reinstate nature strips and install timber fencing and bollards
  • Inspect, maintain, and repair playground equipment and facilities
  • Operate and maintain heavy equipment such as skid steer loaders and trucks

Requirements:

  • Current Victorian drivers' license
  • Previous experience in landscape maintenance and equipment operation
  • Pre-employment medical assessment and employee working with children's check
  • Satisfactory national police check and valid right to work in Australia

Desirable Skills:

  • Certificate III in Horticulture (Landscaping/construction)
  • Medium rigid truck license
  • Skid steer loader license
