Parks Maintenance Team Member

As a key member of our open space assets team, this casual role offers the potential to lead to a full-time contract. Your shift will be 38 hours per week, starting at 7:00am and finishing at 4:00pm.

The purpose of this role is to work independently using a range of horticultural, parkland and maintenance skills to maintain open space assets effectively.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Identify and quantify resources required for objectives, including small landscape construction projects.
  • Manage personal time, prioritise works and implement weekly works programs and job sheets satisfactorily.
  • Select appropriate equipment & techniques used in parks/garden maintenance, operate/maintain/adjust plant & equip correctly.
  • Work in a team environment, cooperate and communicate with the public and provide on-the-job training.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of vegetation management and maintenance, basic landscape and asset construction and maintenance.
  • Experience with herbicide use.
  • Experience with small and medium horticultural equipment.
  • Good verbal and written communication and willingness to effectively communicate with management, residents and the public.

Required qualifications include a Trade Certificate (Level 3) in Horticulture and/or relevant experience.

As a member of our team, you will be working within the Broad acre mowing team, maintaining grass in reserves and roadsides. This will involve operating heavy mowing equipment, pre-start checks and general maintenance of equipment.

**Note:** A Police Check, WWCC and Covid Vaccination status are all mandatory upon placement.
