JOB TITLE:

Youth Worker

ABOUT THE ROLE:

Samaritans Youth Services is looking for a skilled Youth Worker to join our team. As a Youth Worker, you will be responsible for providing a safe and supportive environment for young people in need.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Provide a mix of shifts, including morning, afternoon, and sleepover shifts, including weekends
  • Work in Maitland and Newcastle, as required
  • Develop and implement programs to support young people experiencing disadvantage
  • Work within a team to provide a culturally safe environment for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Tertiary Certificate in Youth Work/Community Welfare/Social Work or equivalent experience
  • Ability to work rotating shifts, including weekends
  • Demonstrated capacity to utilise a strengths-based and trauma-informed care approach
  • Demonstrated understanding and commitment to child protection legislation
