Job Description

This is a challenging role that involves designing and delivering community capacity building initiatives.

  • Design and deliver initiatives aligned with the National Disability Insurance Agency's (NDIA) Individualised Funding Policy Framework.
  • Build strong partnerships with local organisations, government agencies and diverse community groups to foster collaboration and growth.
  • Facilitate community mapping to identify service gaps and opportunities for improvement.
  • Co-design initiatives with individuals with disability and their families to ensure tailored solutions.
  • Engage with priority groups such as First Nations, culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD), lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex, queer and asexual (LGBTIQA+) and people from rural/remote communities to promote inclusivity.
  • Develop project plans with measurable outcomes to drive success.
  • Monitor and report on the impact of initiatives to inform future decisions.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Demonstrated experience in community development and/or capacity building with measurable outcomes.
  • A strong knowledge of the NDIS, disability sector, ILC Policy Framework and Partners in the Community program.
  • Proven ability to build genuine partnerships and co-design with individuals with a disability.
  • Experience in project planning, performance measurement and community engagement.
  • Excellent communication and engagement skills.
  • A high level of organisational and self management skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a community based settings.
  • Strong commitment to inclusion, diversity and accessibility.
  • Experience managing community events.
