Community Capacity Building Role Overview:

This position plays a vital role in building and strengthening community capacity, focusing on initiatives aligned with the National Disability Insurance Agency's (NDIA) Individualised Funding and Informal Care Policy Framework. As part of our team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing projects that foster collaboration between local organisations, government agencies, and diverse community groups.

  • Co-design initiatives with individuals with disability and their families.">
  • Engage with priority groups such as First Nations, CALD, LGBTIQA+, rural/remote communities.">
  • Develop project plans with measurable outcomes.">
  • Monitor and report on the impact of initiatives.">
  • Ensure compliance with relevant systems and frameworks.">
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and regional service planning.">

  • Demonstrated experience in community development and/or capacity building.">
  • A strong knowledge of the NDIS, disability sector, and related frameworks.">
  • Proven ability to build genuine partnerships and co-design with individuals with a disability.">
  • Experience in project planning, performance measurement, and community engagement.">
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.">
  • A high level of organisational and self-management skills.">
  • Ability to work independently in a community-based setting.">
  • Strong commitment to inclusion, diversity, and accessibility.">
  • Tertiary qualification in community development, social work, or related field (desirable).">
