Support Clients in a Group Setting

Contribute to making a positive difference in your community by assisting support workers in delivering group activities tailored to meet clients' needs.

Volunteering involves contributing time to support our community. Our volunteering program is flexible and supportive, with training provided to develop the skills needed to make a positive impact.

  • Assist with group programs and activities
  • Interact and support clients attending the group
  • Assist in setting up and packing away the room for daily activities as required
  • Assist with refreshment preparations - morning tea, lunch etc.

Meet like-minded people and form long-lasting friendships while challenging yourself by trying something new. You will have the opportunity to learn and develop a new skill, contribute to making a positive difference in your community, and engage with clients and encourage their participation in activities.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • No formal qualifications required; flexibility and a non-judgmental calm approach are essential
  • Must be functionally fit and active to work in a Centre with 10-15 members
  • Experience working with vulnerable people, frail aged, or people with disability desired but not essential
  • Compassionate, inclusive, and understanding outlook towards vulnerable community members
