Overview

Senior Liability Underwriter - Western Australia Market

This role is focused on applying underwriting strategy to target markets and accounts in the area of responsibility.

  • Underwrite Liability insurance risks adhering to underwriting guidelines and standards.
  • Liaise with account management and business development teams to support account management and procurement.
  • Support and mentor the team, provide guidance as appropriate and take responsibility for personal development.
  • Support the management of the Liability portfolio across underwriting processing and credit management, documentation issuance and general servicing and management of liability risks.
  • Build and develop relationships with customers (internal and external), including partner agent and broker visits to nurture relationships and opportunities.
About You
  • Solid experience in general liability underwriting, insurance risk management, liability broking or related roles.
  • Experience with insurance legal and regulatory environments, as well as risk analysis and selection.
  • Excellent communication skills for interacting with insurance agents, brokers, clients, and internal stakeholders.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in evaluating general insurance risks and determining coverage terms.
  • Problem-solving abilities to address complex underwriting scenarios and negotiate terms with stakeholders.
  • Customer-centric approach to understanding client needs and providing responsive service.
  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge of Pricing, Portfolio Management and intermediary account management.
  • An insurance qualification e.g. ANZIIF Cert IV or in the process of working towards.
