Your Role

As a vital member of the Psychosocial Support Program (PSP), you will cultivate meaningful connections with clients, their support systems, and various clinical and non-clinical services to provide a cohesive service experience. Your work will focus on empowering clients through the facilitation of individual and group mental health and wellbeing initiatives. Collaborating closely with Peer Advocates and the PSP team, you will ensure that client perspectives are integral to our service approach. Additionally, you will have the chance to create and lead impactful workshops and events aimed at enhancing mental health awareness, reducing stigma, and encouraging proactive help-seeking behaviors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establishing robust relationships with clients and their support networks to guarantee coordinated assistance for the Psychosocial Support Program (PSP).
  • Documenting client information in the MA Connect system.
  • Incorporating client and family insights into service planning and execution.
  • Facilitating both individual and group mental health and wellbeing programs alongside Peer Advocates.
  • Creating, implementing, and assessing workshop materials.
  • Designing and managing events and workshops that promote mental health literacy, diminish stigma, and foster early help-seeking.
  • Collaborating with the Program Manager, Peer Advocates, and the team to sustain partnerships with essential stakeholders and service providers.
  • Formulating an annual community engagement and health promotion calendar.
  • Assisting clients in enhancing their networks and community resources.
  • Participating in regional meetings to ensure program integration and consistency.
  • Coordinating community engagement activities within budgetary constraints.
  • Completing reports on client and group activities.
  • Ensuring quality assurance and timely completion of administrative responsibilities.

Qualifications for Success

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications and experience in recovery-oriented mental health services.
  • Extensive background in Community Development or Project Management.
  • Exceptional planning and development skills.
  • Established community connections or knowledge of how to build networking opportunities within the community.
  • Proven ability to design, implement, and evaluate community awareness initiatives.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Strong administrative capabilities and proficiency with technology, including databases and mobile devices.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Interpersonal effectiveness.
  • Demonstrated experience in coordinating and facilitating community programs, events, and activities.
  • Expertise in leveraging social media as a communication tool.
  • Deep understanding of the challenges faced by individuals from diverse backgrounds, including culturally and linguistically diverse young people, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders, and LGBTIQIA+ communities.
