Job Title: Transport Operations Manager

A key leadership role is available for a highly motivated and experienced Transport Operations Manager. This individual will play a crucial part in the company's operational success, overseeing a large team of drivers and ensuring the efficient operation of the department.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing competing priorities and demands, maintaining high employee engagement, and driving training initiatives to develop team members. They will also be accountable for performance management, including preparation of performance action plans.

In addition, the Transport Operations Manager will have a focus on continual development and improvement of our safety culture, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.

  • manage a team of drivers to ensure timely delivery of products to customers across metro, regional, and interstate areas;
  • oversee the efficient operation of the transport department, including planning and coordination of transportation routes and schedules;
  • develop and implement processes to improve customer satisfaction and service delivery;
  • collaborate with internal stakeholders to drive business growth and expansion;
  • analyze and interpret performance data to inform strategic decisions;
  • maintain accurate records and reports related to transport operations;
  • liaise with external parties, such as suppliers and regulatory bodies, as required.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

  • a background in transport or logistics with extensive knowledge of trucks and fleet operations;
  • proven experience in leading and managing teams to achieve high levels of productivity and customer satisfaction;
  • highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to adapt their style to meet the needs of diverse stakeholders;
  • completion of Chain of Responsibility training;
  • understanding of LEAN & CI methodology and principles;
  • ability to analyze and interpret performance data;
  • effective problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
