Job Title: Governance and Data Management Specialist

The Australian Public Service (APS) employs Governance and Data Management Specialists to oversee the workflow and make independent decisions within their area of responsibility.

This role involves interpreting legislation, policy, and procedures to provide advice within the Logistics Management function area. The specialist will undertake research and analysis, conduct assessments, and perform procedural and clerical support work to achieve results.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and maintaining business domain knowledge, data skills, and awareness of data practices and trends.
  • Building a sound understanding of Defence data enterprise frameworks, strategies, statements, and policies to inform JLC's position.
  • Providing advice and assistance with governance to strengthen the integrity and resilience of Defence Logistics Information Systems (DLIS).
  • Supporting the Logistics Domain Data Steward in assessing, evaluating, and improving data quality, business intelligence strategy, initiatives, projects, policy, and procedures.

To be successful in this role, you must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as the ability to manage priorities and needs of customers to meet and exceed expectations.
