Job Title: Data Governance and Policy Professional

This role is part of the department's centralised data and analytic capability, focusing on enabling business areas to use evidence for informed decision-making.

The Data and Evaluation Group leads the department-wide data strategies, policies, and frameworks, ensuring safe, ethical, and legal data use.

">

As a senior data policy and governance officer, your role will support staff in using data safely, securely, and legally. You will lead and manage data governance activities, improving data quality, managing sensitive data, and uplifting the department's data governance maturity.

Responsibilities include developing and promoting the department's Data Governance Framework, leading critical priorities, and implementing initiatives related to the department's Data Strategy.

You will also contribute to the Australian Government's broader data sharing reform agenda through participation in external networks and working groups.

">

Key requirements include experience in a similar governance or policy role, project management knowledge, and highly developed written and verbal communication skills.

To be considered, you must be an Australian Citizen and have the ability to obtain and maintain a Government Security Clearance at the Baseline level or higher.
