Live Kidney Transplant Coordinator

This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team in a role that makes a real impact in patients' lives. As the Live Kidney Transplant Coordinator, you will be responsible for the operation and delivery of the paired kidney donation program.


The successful candidate will have experience coordinating or caring for live donor renal transplants, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to liaise with patients, families, and carers as well as a large number of external stakeholders involved in the transportation of kidneys both nationally and internationally.


You will provide clinical leadership and consultancy for the ANZKX Program to nursing and other healthcare professionals, oversee and coordinate organ transport during paired kidney donation surgeries, and work closely with local and national transplant centres to ensure appropriate registration of donors and recipients.



Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate the operation and delivery of the paired kidney donation program
  • Liaise with patients, families, and carers as well as external stakeholders
  • Provide clinical leadership and consultancy to nursing and healthcare professionals
  • Oversee and coordinate organ transport during paired kidney donation surgeries


Requirements:
  • Current registration as a Registered Nurse under the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation National Law Act with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia
  • Tertiary qualification in Nursing, with a minimum of 5 years nursing experience
  • Experience coordinating or caring for live donor renal transplants
  • Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills
