Role Overview

As an Information Exchange Specialist, you will play a critical role in supporting timely information sharing activity between states and territories.

About the Role

You will undertake dedicated information exchange functions to support timely information sharing activity between states and territories in accordance with various protocols, including the Interstate Child Protection Protocol (2021) and the 1996 Hague Convention.

Your responsibilities will include requesting information from a range of Commonwealth stakeholders, such as Services Australia regarding Centrelink and Medicare information required for Child Protection investigations.

You will develop responses to complex information sharing requests with relevant information related to child safety, welfare, and well-being or prospective carers/adult household members.

In addition, you will manage and redirect information received from other states for action to ensure the safety of children from interstate living in Victoria.

You will contribute to the development and maintenance of operational policy, practice, and agreements on sensitive information sharing across jurisdictions within the department.
