Key Role Overview

The Information and Technology Branch is seeking a Technical Expert to drive the delivery of strategic initiatives. This role will play a pivotal part in transforming the existing infrastructure into a high-quality enabler for its broad business.

Role Responsibility

This position is responsible for providing technical support to the network, server, and cloud-based infrastructure, remote access services, and acting as a technical escalation point for other teams in the Branch.

The Technical Expert will be required to mentor and support other team members with complex technical issues, possess strong problem-solving skills, and collaborate effectively.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Proven high-level communication skills, including the provision of expert advice on ICT issues of a complex nature
  • Proven ability to work under broad direction to meet deadlines and prioritise workloads
  • Demonstrated experience in supporting complex ICT projects and/or activities that impact organisational objectives
  • Experience in acting as an escalation point for operational issues, monitor operational workloads and provide mentoring to other technical staff
  • Experience in the establishment, review, and continuous improvement of ICT policies, processes, and other operational documentation
  • Experience in the provision of specialist technical advice, technical documentation, and support within an information technology environment
  • Significant knowledge of ICT-related government legislation, policies, procedures, and systems
