Glen Eira City Council is seeking an experienced and ambitious leader to join our Aquatics team as the Assistant Team Leader for the GEL Swim School.

About the Role

This exciting opportunity involves assisting the Swim School Team Leader in overseeing the daily operations of the GEL Swim School, managing a team of staff, and ensuring high-quality service delivery to our members.

Key responsibilities include maintaining service standards, administering the Swim School program, conducting class assessments, and acting as a liaison between staff, members, and parents.

The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, aquatic experience, and the ability to maintain safety standards in a dynamic environment.

Job Description
  • Team Leadership: Assist to train, supervise, and provide leadership to the GEL Swim School team as per centre policies and industry guidelines.
  • Roster Management: Assist to organise and maintain the GEL Swim School roster, ensuring efficient and adequate staff coverage at GESAC and CMSP.
  • Service Standards: Collaborate with the GEL Swim School Team Leader to maintain Service Improvement Standards in daily operations.
  • Customer Service: Act as a liaison on pool deck, providing customer service to Swim School members and parents.

In addition to these key responsibilities, the successful applicant will be required to perform direct service as a GEL Swim Shift Supervisor, GEL Customer Experience Officer, or Swim Instructor.

Salary and Benefits

The estimated annual salary for this role is $75,000 - $90,000, depending on experience.

Requirements and Qualifications
  • Demonstrated experience and achievement in the leisure industry and/or relevant tertiary qualifications.
  • Comprehensive customer service experience.
  • Provide First Aid with current CPR qualification.
  • Employee Working with Children Check.
  • Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety Certificate.
  • Teacher of Swimming extension courses (Desirable).
