Maintenance Supervisor Role Overview:

The role of Maintenance Supervisor involves providing quality and timely maintenance services across a care home, ensuring facilities are maintained to an exceptional standard that aligns with regulatory requirements and resident preferences.

Key Responsibilities:

\
  • \
  • Provide repairs and maintenance support to the care home across a wide scope of activities including preventative maintenance, repair, and improvement works.\
  • Partake and lead continuous improvement or corrective activities associated with the care home facilities.\
  • Assist in the development of repair and maintenance plans and monitor their actual utilisation.\
  • Document and communicate team and individual performance expectations.\
  • Manage the work of maintenance staff across the shift in view of dining requirements.\
  • Identify and report potential safety hazards and implement measures to mitigate risks.\
  • Develop and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders to ensure effective communication and collaboration.\
  • Implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs.\
  • Collaborate with other departments to achieve overall business objectives.\
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and communicate results to stakeholders.\
  • Contribute to the development of a positive and inclusive workplace culture.\
  • Act as a liaison between maintenance staff and other departments to resolve issues and improve workflows.\
  • Recommend equipment upgrades and replacements to improve facility operations and safety.\
  • Develop and manage budgets for maintenance projects and initiatives.\
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.\
  • Lead by example and promote a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.\
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices in maintenance and facilities management.\
  • Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.\
  • Conduct regular audits and assessments to identify areas for improvement.\
  • Implement strategies to minimize waste, reduce energy consumption, and promote sustainability.\
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive maintenance plan, including schedules, procedures, and protocols.\
  • Communicate effectively with residents, families, and visitors regarding maintenance activities and updates.\\[

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Formal qualifications at post-trade or advanced certificate level; and/or relevant skills training or experience.\
  • Experience in property maintenance and building works.\
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.\
  • Experience in occupational health and safety.\
  • The ability to solve problems independently.\\[
