About the Role

This is a challenging opportunity to support the Recoveries and Settlements leadership team in delivering our risk management strategy. You will work closely with the team to ensure that all elements of the risk management framework are completed and complied with.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Coordinating and facilitating the delivery of specific training and development initiatives to strengthen risk management activities and facilitate workshops for risk and control identification
  • Advising and leading the development, implementation and ongoing review, testing, and assurance for A&G's Business Continuity Framework
  • Identifying, assessing, and documenting operational risks, including Incident Management and Risk Profile analysis, ensuring Risk Assessments are in place for the Department that you are responsible for
  • Developing and maintaining risk registers, heat maps, and other risk management tools and conducting root cause analysis, identifying lessons learned, implementing corrective actions, and remediation plans as required
  • Managing the response to regulator requests and regulatory change, leading the incident response effort, ensuring timely and effective resolution
  • Supporting and representing business in BreachCos, ensuring effective collaboration and communication
  • Supporting the development and implementation of risk mitigation strategies, controls, and procedures and improving internal risk controls, detection, and response capabilities
  • Performing risk assessments for data protection, supplier management, and risk management programs and monitoring the management of incidents, audit actions, and treatment plans

What You'll Bring

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • 2+ years of experience working within a similar position with experience in the financial services industry, preferably general insurance, desirable
  • Ability to build and sustain effective relationships with strong negotiation and influencing ability, excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong background in Incident Management, Risk Profile, and Risk Reporting
  • Demonstrated understanding of legislative, regulatory, and compliance obligations to operate in a FSR environment and proficiency in regulatory and compliance obligations relating to GICOP, Privacy, Corps Act, and Claims Handling, RG271, and Complaints Management, CPS 230
  • Exposure in Third Party Risk Management is highly desirable
