About the Role

The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for ensuring plant equipment operates and functions correctly by performing regular maintenance and repairs. This involves using proven mechanical knowledge to maintain and support both machinery and building infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Ensure plant equipment is operating and functioning correctly.
  2. Perform regular maintenance and repairs to machinery and building infrastructure.
  3. Develop strategies to improve quality, reduce costs, and enhance safety.
  4. Assist production with machinery problems and setups, providing relevant training when appropriate.
  5. Complete daily maintenance check sheets and job cards.
Requirements
  1. Proven experience as a Mechanical Engineer in a similar role.
  2. Excellent organisational skills with the ability to plan workloads effectively to meet deadlines.
  3. Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills.
  4. Attention to detail, commitment, and the ability to accept responsibility are key in this role.
  5. Food industry experience is advantageous.
  6. Comfortable working at height.
What We Offer
  1. Expected salary is £15.75p/hr based on a 42.5 hour week with the opportunity of extra hours and Call Out bonuses.
  2. 28 days holiday including Bank Holidays.
  3. NEST pension with auto enrolment at the 3 month point.
  4. Parking on site.
