Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our Engineering Team in Mount Gambier. As a Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and detailing machinery and parts using Auto CAD and 3D Modelling software.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and detailing of machinery and parts using Auto CAD and 3D Modelling software.
  • Commissioning automation systems for wood manufacturing.
  • Procurement of materials and parts for engineering projects.
  • Machine construction and testing in our workshop.
  • Factory automation design for plant upgrades, optimization, and new projects.
  • Layout drawings for project proposal, planning, and execution.
  • Calculations to analyze throughput and performance.
Requirements:
  • Experience in 2D or 3D CAD drafting, including the ability to produce manufacturing drawings.
  • Experience in mechanical design and automation.
  • Ability to understand and apply mechanical concepts and principles.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
About You:
  • Qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering (or similar degrees), or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering with experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to learn quickly and be proactive.
  • Excellent time management skills with demonstrated ability to prioritize and meet targets.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work efficiently either independently or as part of a team.
  • Hold a current driver's license.

We offer a full-time permanent position within our Engineering Team, with a negotiable rate based on experience and qualifications. As part of the selection process, applicants must be prepared to undergo a pre-employment medical examination, which includes functional, audiometric, and drug and alcohol testing.
