About the Role

The Mechanical Engineer will play a key role in overseeing the reliability and mechanical performance of our WA Cement assets. This position requires strong leadership and technical skills to provide support to our plant-based maintenance teams and drive process and asset reliability improvements.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Incident Reporting and Investigation: Ensure all safety, environmental, and process incidents are reported, investigated, and corrective actions are implemented to prevent re-occurrence.
  2. Work Instructions and Procedures: Develop and maintain work instructions, procedures, forms, policies, JHA's, and HAZOP's related to areas of responsibility.
  3. Zero-Injury Environment: Promote a zero-injury environment and encourage a positive and safe working culture.
  4. Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service, both internally and externally.
  5. Asset Reliability Strategy: Develop and implement asset reliability strategies and plans for our Cement-related assets.
  6. Collaboration and Support: Assist plant-based maintenance teams and process managers to maximize asset reliability and performance.
  7. Operational Improvements: Develop and implement operational improvements and lead the change management process.
  8. Shutdown Activities: Develop scopes for shutdown activities for all Cement operational assets and provide technical leadership and monitor quality outcomes.
  9. Supplier Management: Work collaboratively with the Procurement Department to choose and manage suppliers effectively.
  10. Leadership and Culture: Lead by example and encourage a positive and safe working environment/culture.
  11. Asset Maintenance: Maintain assets to enable them to operate at their operational sustainable limits.
About You

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mechanical Engineer with:

  1. Tertiary Qualifications: Relevant tertiary qualifications or a related discipline.
  2. Reliability Experience: A minimum of five (5) years reliability experience in the manufacturing industry.
  3. Plant and Equipment Experience: Significant experience in the installation, repair, and maintenance of large plant and equipment.
  4. Leadership and Management: Proven ability to lead and manage teams of tradespeople and contractors when required.
  5. Project Management: Experience with project management and project cost control.
  6. Technical Skills: Competent in CBM & RCM, MS Office, and SAP.
