The Role:

We are seeking an experienced Area Business Manager to lead our operations in Canberra. As the successful candidate, you will be responsible for driving the business growth and financial performance of the business unit in Canberra. You will report directly to the Regional General Manager and have a direct line to the Chief Operating Officer. This role offers a unique opportunity to partner with divisional experts and successfully run the Business Unit in Canberra.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement business plans to drive growth and revenue
  • Lead and manage a small multi-functional team to achieve business objectives
  • Develop and execute sales strategies to drive business growth
  • Oversee operations to ensure efficient and effective delivery of services
  • Ensure compliance with safety and IMS standards
  • Provide exceptional customer service and build strong relationships with clients
  • Manage and develop a team of professionals to achieve business objectives
  • Administer and manage business operations, including finance and administration
  • Embed and promote the company's values and culture
Requirements:
  • Proven experience in managing a small multi-functional team
  • Strong sales and sales management experience
  • Ability to develop and execute business strategies for differing market sectors
  • High level of drive, self-motivation, and a desire to win
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with demonstrated ability to meet deadlines
  • Proficient Microsoft skills
  • Coaching experience
  • Ability to undergo pre-employment screening if requested by the employer
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
About You:

You are a driven professional with a keen eye for commercial opportunity and the finesse to win business and manage relationships in a consultative and solutions-focused manner. You will be able to demonstrate:

  • Successful business management experience
  • Experience in driving B2B sales teams and possessing skills in key accounts management and business development at executive and C-suite level
  • Strong local networks, ideally in the commercial construction and property space
  • Knowledge of commercial construction and property, including building, maintenance, and remediation
  • Proven people leadership experience
  • Ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively
