  • Electro-Optical Leadership: Lead the design and development of electro-optical systems, contributing directly to Australia's Defence capability.
  • System Requirements: Define high-level system requirements and develop comprehensive subsystem specifications.
  • Modelling & Simulation: Develop models and simulations to validate system performance under real-world conditions.
  • Technology Integration: Assess and integrate technologies across optics, sensors, electronics, and mechanical subsystems.
  • Technical Collaboration: Work closely with international experts and suppliers to ensure robust and innovative system designs.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Essential Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Optics, Physics, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Desirable Qualifications:
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in optronic or electro-optical systems, including imaging payloads, stabilised gimbals, tracking systems, or optical sensors.
  • Familiarity with relevant modelling and simulation tools.
