Accounts Payable Officer (Inventory) Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Accounts Payable Officer (Inventory) to join the dynamic team at Seed Heritage.

This role will be responsible for managing the capturing of invoices and the reconciliation of general ledger accounts in relation to inventory for Seed Heritage Group of brands.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process all transactions for inventory, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Reconcile stock invoices to supplier invoices and merchandise system, identifying and resolving any discrepancies.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly payments in line with cash flow requirements and supplier terms, maintaining a strong relationship with buyers and external stock suppliers.
  • Manage the internal relationship with buyers and external stock suppliers, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration.
  • Reconcile all inventory balances at end of month to internal merchandise system, providing accurate and up-to-date information.
  • Reconcile all payments to banking transactions, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Manage Wholesale invoices and reconciliation, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
  • Main contact for external and internal warehouses for any stock and reconciliation issues, providing prompt and effective resolution.
  • Forecast monthly stock requirements for cash flow purposes, providing valuable insights and recommendations.

Requirements:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent in accounting, with a strong understanding of Accounting Standards.
  • Experience in a similar Accounts Payable role, with a proven track record of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with buyers and external stock suppliers.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, meeting tight deadlines and prioritizing tasks effectively.
  • Strong organisation skills and time management abilities, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word & Excel), with the ability to learn and adapt to new systems and processes.
  • Comfortable working on-site in our St Kilda Rd Offices 5 days per week, with a strong commitment to teamwork and collaboration.
