About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Field Maintenance Coordinator to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of our field equipment, including soil sampling gear and associated vehicles.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Undertake field work collecting soil as required, including on-site repairs and maintenance of sampling equipment.
- Guide and support casual field staff in repairs and maintenance of sampling equipment to ensure efficiency in the field.
- Train casual field staff to safely and efficiently operate field equipment.
- Liaise with the Field Operations Coordinator to execute weekly field work requirements and ensure adequate preparation of field equipment for each activity.
- Manage tools, spares, and parts to ensure equipment is adequately prepared for each field-based activity, following sampling protocols.
- Deploy and adhere to PA safety processes and actively promote OH&S standards to all field staff.
- Manage repairs and a maintenance schedule to ensure minimal field downtime.
- Source and manage preferred suppliers.
- Liaise with suppliers for timely repairs and collection of equipment.
- Problem solve to find immediate mechanical solutions when technicians are in the field to assist them to complete the job.
- Coordinate log book maintenance of equipment while ensuring field activities meet client deadlines.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Previous experience in field operations or a similar role.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and knowledge of sampling equipment (or similar) repairs and maintenance.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to guide and support casual field staff.
- Knowledge of safety protocols and adherence to OH&S standards.
- Strong organizational skills to manage equipment maintenance and stock.
- Ability to work independently and travel as required.
- A valid driver's license and clean driving record.
- Ability to train others in the safe operation of field equipment.
