This position plays a crucial role in supporting the warehouse and maintenance/irrigation teams by managing the procurement of equipment spare parts and workshop consumables.

ofi is a prominent global integrated supply chain manager, processor, and grower of agricultural products and food ingredients, serving a diverse clientele across 16 platforms and over 13,000 customers worldwide. With a strong presence in more than 65 countries and sourcing operations in key producing regions, ofi has established a leadership position in many sectors, including cocoa, dairy, and almonds in Australia & New Zealand.

Key Responsibilities

Reporting to the Warehouse & Procurement Manager, this role is designed to assist the warehouse and maintenance/irrigation departments through the procurement of essential equipment spare parts and consumables. The main responsibilities include:

Parts Procurement & Management
  • Generating and processing purchase orders, including forward ordering of consumables and irrigation equipment spare parts.
  • Monitoring and maintaining stock levels to ensure continuous product availability.
  • Compiling monthly and weekly reports as required by management.
  • Overseeing parts receiving, warehouse distribution, and operations while reviewing supplier pricing to optimize supply costs.
  • Managing parts warranty claims and understanding the warranty claim processes for various suppliers and manufacturers.
  • Conducting periodic cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy and analyzing discrepancies.
  • Providing guidance and support to other departments regarding parts planning, inventory management, and warehouse operations.
Warehouse & Maintenance Support
  • Training warehouse staff to ensure adequate cross-training for coverage during absences.
  • Enhancing professional and technical knowledge through training, workshops, and networking.
Logistics & Goods Management
  • Assisting with Goods Issue processes as needed.
  • Picking and distributing parts to farms as required.
  • Documenting stock flow to facilitate efficient planning and organizing freight for incoming and outgoing goods.
Facility Management & Forklift Operation
  • Safely operating forklifts in accordance with established guidelines.
  • Maintaining pallet racking systems.
  • Ensuring cleanliness and organization of the warehouse, including sweeping, restocking supplies, and disposing of waste.
Continuous Improvement Initiatives
  • Implementing LEAN and SMART principles in all aspects of the role to drive continuous improvement in operations.

We are looking for candidates with a minimum of five (5) years of experience in the almond or horticultural industry, particularly with orchard equipment and spare parts.

Successful applicants will possess strong computer skills, an understanding of programmed maintenance for machinery, and the ability to work independently while managing budgets. Excellent problem-solving skills and the capability to provide practical, cost-effective solutions are essential.

A valid Car and forklift license is required, with a willingness to obtain an HR license if necessary, along with any other relevant qualifications.
