Key ResponsibilitiesReporting to the Warehouse & Procurement Manager, this role is designed to assist the warehouse and maintenance/irrigation departments by overseeing the ordering of equipment spare parts and consumables. The main responsibilities include:
Parts Management & Ordering- Generating and processing purchase orders, including forward ordering of consumables and irrigation equipment spare parts.
- Monitoring and maintaining stock levels to ensure consistent product availability.
- Preparing periodic reporting as required by management.
- Overseeing parts receiving, warehouse distribution, and operations while reviewing supplier pricing to optimize supply costs.
- Managing parts warranty claims and comprehending the warranty claim processes for various suppliers and manufacturers.
- Conducting regular cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy and analyzing discrepancies.
- Providing guidance and support to other departments regarding parts planning, inventory management, and warehouse operations.
- Training warehouse personnel to ensure adequate cross-training for coverage during absences.
- Enhancing professional and technical knowledge through training sessions, workshops, and networking.
- Assisting with Goods Issue requirements as needed.
- Picking parts from inventory and distributing them to operational sites as required.
- Documenting stock movement to facilitate efficient planning and organizing freight logistics.
- Operating forklifts safely in accordance with established guidelines.
- Maintaining pallet racking systems.
- Ensuring cleanliness and organization within the warehouse, including managing stock replenishment and waste disposal.
- Implementing LEAN and SMART principles in all aspects of the role to foster ongoing improvements in operations.
We are looking for candidates with a minimum of five (5) years of experience in the almond or horticultural sectors, or in managing orchard equipment and spare parts.
Proficiency in computer skills and an understanding of programmed maintenance for machinery are essential, along with the ability to work independently and manage budgets effectively. Strong problem-solving skills and the capacity to deliver practical, cost-effective solutions are crucial.
A valid Car and forklift license is required, with a willingness to obtain an HR license if necessary, along with any other relevant qualifications.
