Job Description

Job Title: Equipment Inventory Officer

Job Summary:

This role supports the warehouse and maintenance departments by ordering equipment spare parts, relating to irrigation and workshop consumables. The successful candidate will have a minimum of five years' experience in the Almond or horticultural sector or experience in orchard equipment and/or Almond harvest equipment and spare parts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Raising and processing purchase orders, forward ordering of consumables and irrigation equipment spares.
  • Determining and maintaining stock levels, always ensuring product availability.
  • Preparing monthly/weekly reporting requirements or as requested by management.
  • Maintaining parts receiving, warehouse distribution and operation, and reviewing supplier pricing to reduce part supply costs.
  • Administering parts warranty claims and understanding the parts warranty claim process for each supplier and manufacturer.
  • Ensuring accuracy of product inventory against system records by conducting cycle counts on a periodic basis and evaluating and analyzing inventory variances.
  • Providing advice and support to other departments on parts planning, inventory control and warehouse matters.
  • Warehouse and Maintenance Training of other warehouse staff to ensure an adequate level of cross-training for leave coverage requirements.
  • Maintaining professional and technical knowledge by attending training and educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, and establishing networks.
  • Goods Issue, Receival & Logistics Assisting store person as required with Goods Issue requirements.
  • Picking parts off shelves and distributing to farms as required.
  • Recording stock flow to ensure planning can be carried out in the most efficient way and organizing freight of goods in and out.
  • Facility & Forklift Safely operating forklift within all prescribed guidelines.
  • Pallet racking.
  • General housekeeping of warehouse including sweeping, straightening or relocating parts/stock and refilling warehouse supplies, breakdown boxes and removing trash where required.
  • Lean & SMART Ensuring the business principles of LEAN and SMART are implemented in all aspects of the position to provide continuous improvement to the role and ofi R&M programs and operations.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of five years' experience in the Almond or horticultural sector or experience in orchard equipment and/or Almond harvest equipment and spare parts.
  • Competent computer skills and understanding of programmed maintenance of machinery.
  • Ability to work autonomously and understand and manage a budget.
  • Sound problem-solving skills and the ability to provide practical and cost-effective solutions.
  • A current Car and forklift licence is required.
  • Willingness to obtain HR if necessary, as well as any other applicable qualifications as required.
