This position plays a crucial role in supporting the warehouse and maintenance/irrigation teams by managing the procurement of equipment spare parts, particularly those related to irrigation and workshop supplies.

ofi stands as a prominent global integrated supply chain manager, processor, and cultivator of agricultural products and food ingredients, delivering a diverse range of products across 16 platforms to over 13,000 clients worldwide. With a direct presence in more than 65 countries and sourcing and processing capabilities in major producing regions, ofi has established a leading position in numerous sectors, including cocoa, dairy, and almonds in Australia & New Zealand.

Key Responsibilities

Reporting directly to the Warehouse & Procurement Manager, this role is designed to assist the warehouse and maintenance/irrigation teams in the procurement of essential equipment spare parts and consumables. The primary responsibilities include:

Parts Procurement & Management
  • Generating and processing purchase orders, including forward orders for consumables and irrigation equipment spare parts.
  • Monitoring and maintaining optimal stock levels to ensure continuous product availability.
  • Preparing regular reporting as required by management, including monthly and weekly updates.
  • Overseeing parts receiving, warehouse distribution, and operations while evaluating supplier pricing to optimize supply costs.
  • Managing parts warranty claims and comprehending the warranty claim processes for various suppliers and manufacturers.
  • Conducting periodic cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy and analyzing discrepancies.
  • Providing guidance and support to other departments regarding parts planning, inventory management, and warehouse operations.
Warehouse & Maintenance Support
  • Training warehouse personnel to ensure sufficient cross-training for coverage during absences.
  • Enhancing professional and technical knowledge through training sessions, educational workshops, and networking opportunities.
Logistics & Distribution
  • Assisting the store personnel with goods issue tasks as necessary.
  • Picking parts from inventory and distributing them to various locations as required.
  • Documenting stock movement to facilitate efficient planning and organizing the transportation of goods.
Facility Management & Equipment Operation
  • Safely operating forklifts in compliance with established guidelines.
  • Managing pallet racking systems.
  • Maintaining cleanliness and organization within the warehouse, including tasks such as sweeping, restocking supplies, and disposing of waste.
Continuous Improvement Initiatives
  • Implementing LEAN and SMART business principles in all aspects of the role to drive ongoing improvements in operations.

We are looking for candidates with a minimum of five (5) years of experience in the almond or horticultural industry, particularly with orchard equipment and/or almond harvesting machinery and spare parts.

Successful applicants will possess strong computer skills and a solid understanding of programmed maintenance for machinery, alongside the ability to work independently and manage budgets effectively. Excellent problem-solving abilities and a knack for providing practical, cost-effective solutions are essential.

A valid Car and forklift license is mandatory, with a willingness to obtain an HR license if necessary, along with any other relevant qualifications.
