About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Procurement Specialist to join our team at Monash Health. As a key member of our procurement team, you will be responsible for sourcing, establishing, coordinating, and managing new and existing suppliers, ensuring adherence to policy and achievement of objectives approved in the procurement plan.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead End-to-End Sourcing Activities: Oversee the entire sourcing process, from initial market analysis to contract negotiation and award.
  • Develop Effective Go-to-Market Strategies: Utilize leading practice tools and processes to conduct market analysis, spend analysis, and stakeholder consultation to develop effective sourcing strategies.
  • Execute Sourcing Events: Execute sourcing events according to an approved procurement plan, ensuring adherence to policies and procedures.
  • Maintain Probity in the Source-to-Contract Process: Ensure that all sourcing activities are conducted in a fair, transparent, and accountable manner.
  • Manage Tender Steering Teams: Lead and manage tender steering teams, project teams, and key stakeholders during the tender process.
  • Collaborate with the Monash Health Legal Team: Collaborate with the Monash Health Legal team at appropriate points in the source-to-contract process to deliver high-quality contracts.
  • Draft Contract Amendments and Variations: Draft contract amendments and variations in consultation with business units and other stakeholders.
  • Maintain the Centralised Contracts Register: Maintain the Centralised Contracts Register, ensuring that the data collated is accurate and complete.
  • Support the Implementation of e-Procurement Systems: Support the implementation of e-Procurement related systems.
  • Support the Planning Process: Support the planning process to develop the Monash Health Annual Procurement Plan.
  • Aid Continuous Improvement: Aid the continuous improvement of Monash Health's systems and processes.
Key Result Areas
  • Efficient and Agile Sourcing of Tactical Goods and Services: Source goods and services in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Advising the Business Units on Procurement Policies and Procedures: Provide guidance and advice to business units on procurement policies and procedures.
  • Efficient Management of the Contract Register: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of contracts and agreements.
  • Supporting the Category Management Team: Support the Category Management team in delivering strategic initiatives.
About You

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Procurement Specialist who possesses the following qualifications and skills:

  • Relevant Tertiary Qualification: A relevant tertiary qualification in business or a technical field.
  • Membership of a Professional Body: Membership of a professional body such as the Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply.
  • Sound Understanding of Procurement and Supply Chain Principles: A sound understanding of procurement and supply chain principles and business financials.
