Project Engineer Position

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Project Engineer to join our team on a full-time permanent basis. As part of an integrated project delivery team, you will manage and control all elements of the program delivery inclusive of safety, quality, schedule, costs, and compensation events.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop pump, valve, and pipe systems in line with industry standards.
  • Ensure Health, Safety, Quality, Environment (HSEQ) compliance by actively participating in monitoring established working practices.
  • Collaborate with project managers to ensure allocated projects are delivered to scope within time, cost, quality, and regulatory standards.
  • Liaise with clients, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and planning authorities to facilitate meetings and workshops.
  • Interface with design teams to ensure design milestones are met and provide constructability/methodology inputs during the design development phase.
  • Manage relationships with subcontractors/suppliers and contribute to the review process to ensure satisfactory completion of planned work.
  • Demonstrate effective people management skills by managing work and performance of the self-perform workforce and subcontractors.
  • Ensure project Quality Assurance requirements are complied with through established processes and procedures.
  • Prepare subcontractor scope of work and relevant documentation for tender by potential subcontractors in collaboration with the Commercial team.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • Proven construction experience including time spent on site.
  • Previous work experience on reservoir projects is beneficial.
  • Familiarity with Sydney Water's framework process is preferred.
  • Demonstrated leadership in health, safety, quality, and environmental management.
  • Previous experience with major tier-1 contractors or similar projects is advantageous.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Client relationship and stakeholder management experience.
  • Problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • High attention to detail.
  • An understanding of design drawings and technical specifications.
  • Professionalism, positive attitude, and enthusiasm.
  • Willingness to travel to/work from project sites.
  • Current NSW Driver's Licence.
  • Construction White Card.
