We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Project Engineer – Rail Systems to become part of our vibrant team based in Melbourne. The ideal candidate will possess the necessary experience to efficiently manage the design and construction aspects of our projects, ensuring adherence to safety, time, cost, and environmental standards.

Key Responsibilities

Your duties will encompass, but are not limited to:

  • Delivering project engineering services, including planning, budgeting, contract oversight, construction management, testing, commissioning, and quality, safety, and environmental guidance.
  • Identifying and mitigating risks associated with the design and execution of rail systems, ensuring a risk-based methodology is followed.
  • Reviewing project components for compliance, including drawings, reports, specifications, and interdisciplinary interfaces.
  • Ensuring procurement of all materials and components aligns with relevant standards and specifications, facilitating timely delivery to the construction site.
  • Applying Project Engineering methodologies and innovative designs to achieve cost-effective solutions.

Qualifications & Experience

  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar capacity, with at least 5 years in track works; additional experience in Overhead Line Engineering (OLE) is highly advantageous.
  • A tertiary qualification in Engineering – Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or a related field.
  • Experience in constructing heavy haul, freight, passenger, metro, and light rail systems (both ballasted and slab tracks).
  • Experience with 1500 Vdc or 25KVA traction power systems is highly beneficial.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, SharePoint, Teams, Planner) and Primavera P6.
  • Good commercial awareness.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
