About the Role:
VGC is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Rail and Bridges Project Engineer to join our team. As a Site Engineer or Section Engineer, you will be responsible for overseeing the execution of rail and bridges projects, ensuring that they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and coordinate the activities of site engineers and technicians to ensure that projects are completed efficiently and effectively.
- Develop and implement project plans, including setting out and monitoring, reviewing and managing ITPs and WPPs, and raising technical queries.
- Manage and work with subcontractors to ensure that they are meeting the required standards and deadlines.
- Update as-built drawings and maintain accurate records of project progress.
- Ensure that all site engineers and technicians have the necessary training and support to perform their duties effectively.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in rail and bridges projects, with a strong understanding of construction methods and techniques.
- Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and direct a team of site engineers and technicians.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
- Relevant qualifications, such as a degree in civil engineering or a related field, and a valid CSCS card.
