Job Summary

Lycopodium is seeking a highly experienced Rail Engineer to join our team in Melbourne. As a key member of our Design Group, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality rail projects and providing technical expertise to our clients.

About the Role

We are looking for a seasoned professional with a strong background in rail engineering and project management. Your expertise will be essential in ensuring the successful delivery of our rail projects, from design to commissioning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain professional relationships with clients and stakeholders to ensure effective communication and project delivery.
  • Lead and manage multi-discipline engineering and drafting teams to deliver high-quality output and meet project deadlines.
  • Develop and implement technical solutions that meet design review processes and quality requirements.
  • Monitor project progress and performance, providing input and feedback to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Coach and mentor engineers and draftspersons to enhance their skills and knowledge.
  • Provide technical support and input to proposals, customer presentations, and marketing activities.
  • Prepare design scope, budget, and schedule for written proposals.

Requirements

  • 10 years of post-graduate experience in civil engineering or a design delivery role.
  • Proven experience in rail and wider civil projects.
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in civil engineering.
  • Member of Engineers Australia with Chartered Status (CPEng) is desirable.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven experience in managing client interactions on design and drafting issues.
  • High attention to detail and exceptional knowledge of engineering designs and calculations.
  • Experience in design and project management.
