Job DescriptionAs an expert employment lawyer, you will handle a diverse range of employment law issues, providing high-quality legal advice to clients. Your expertise will be invaluable in supporting the growth and success of our clients.
- Provide comprehensive employment law advice to clients on various matters including drafting, interpreting, and advising on employment agreements, company policies, and procedures.
- Assist clients in managing industrial relations issues, including negotiations and compliance matters.
- Offer guidance on workplace issues such as terminations, grievances, disciplinary actions, discrimination, and health and safety obligations, including conducting workplace investigations.
- Interpret employment legislation, including the Fair Work Act and related laws to ensure clients meet their legal obligations.
- Prepare and assist with litigation processes, including unfair dismissal claims, general protections applications, breach of contract disputes, and restraint matters.
- Draft legal documents such as applications, affidavits, witness statements, and pleadings, and manage case files efficiently.
- Negotiate settlement agreements and advise clients on dispute resolution strategies.
- Collaborate proactively with clients to identify employment law risks and develop strategies to mitigate them, fostering strong ongoing relationships.
- A minimum of 3 years PQE in employment law, with experience in both employee and employer matters.
- Strong knowledge of employment legislation, including Fair Work Act and anti-discrimination laws.
- Exceptional research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Proven ability to manage client relationships and deliver high-quality legal advice independently.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Leadership experience is preferred for senior practitioners.
