About the Role

As a senior claims professional, you will have the opportunity to lead a high-performing team of claims managers and support staff in Victoria.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a team of claims professionals to ensure optimal performance and development through coaching and training.
  • Oversee the processing of workers' compensation claims and ensure compliance with regulations and best practices.
  • Develop strategies to improve claims processing efficiency, quality, and customer satisfaction.
  • Analyse claims data to identify trends and areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to enhance customer service and support.
  • Foster a positive work environment that promotes teamwork, accountability, and continuous learning.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in leading teams and managing complex projects.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to navigate conflicting priorities.
  • Negotiation and influencing skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of medical and paramedical terminology and procedures, including forms of treatment applicable to injuries.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to adapt to diverse situations and personalities.
  • Tertiary or relevant qualifications in health/social services are desirable.
  • Ability to work with different IT applications and systems.
  • Understanding of challenges faced by individuals and teams in a fast-paced claims environment.
  • Exceptional customer service skills, with a focus on delivering outcomes that meet or exceed client expectations.
