Job Description

This is a challenging opportunity to lead our transport operations and logistics team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for managing daily yard and traincrew operations, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and ensuring the delivery of safe, reliable and cost-effective train services to our customers.

You will champion a proactive safety culture aligned to our commitment, manage allocated yard and traincrew operations, implement improvement initiatives to reduce asset cycle times and enhance train payloads, and ensure effective crew levels to support scheduling and rostering.

You will also build and maintain positive working relationships with your team, including setting and monitoring performance and behavioural standards, leading incident investigations, and driving safety outcomes.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to have strong safety leadership skills and knowledge, including experience with incident investigations. You will also need to have demonstrated experience in leading teams, assigning tasks, and solving problems in operational settings.

You will need to have a sound understanding of train handling, provisioning procedures, network route knowledge, safe working systems, and crew deployment. Strong stakeholder management skills and commercial awareness are also essential.
