SCT Logistics has an exciting opportunity for an experienced and passionate Operations Manager to join our Penfield based Logistics Team. Reporting into our State Manager you will play a key part in our leadership team and be responsible for overseeing and optimising the operations of our business across South Australia. To be successful in this role we are looking for a strategic thinker with strong operational expertise and excellent management skills. You will play a pivotal role in driving efficiency, improving processes and leading a high performing team to achieve our business objectives across fleet, warehousing and customer service.
**Some of the responsibilities of the role will be**:
- Lead, mentor and support the team by driving company values and a safety first culture.
- Review and challenge operating, expense and operational administration costs to ensure control and targets are maintained and within budget.
- Undertake reviews of contractor services and costs to ensure optimum service and performance levels.
- Provide regular reporting including analysis of the division and performance against budget and KPI's.
- Ensure operational processes, procedures are sound to support the safe and efficient handling of SCT customer freight.
- Work with Work Health & Safety to ensure site SOP's and policies are up to date and fit for purpose.
**Desired Skills and Experience**:
**About you**
- Formal qualifications in logistics, business or management related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience in a similar role within the transport or relevant industry.
- Previous P&L and/or cost centre accountability.
- Management experience in a highly unionised environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to build relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to work autonomously as a leader and be accountable for meeting deadlines and project outputs.
- Working knowledge of WHS, FairWork and transport industry specific legislation.
