Infrastructure Capital Works Project Manager

Lead a high-performing team of capital works professionals in Hobart to drive innovative, sustainable and community-focused infrastructure projects.

The successful candidate will provide strategic leadership to ensure Council's infrastructure programs are aligned with community aspirations and support the delivery of Council's strategic plans and budgets.

Key accountabilities include:

  • Developing, implementing and reviewing Council's strategic direction for infrastructure projects
  • Providing informed and strategic advice to support integrated decision making across the organisation
  • Aligning work with strategic plans and budgets to deliver on the City Plan and Greater Hobart 2050
  • Applying knowledge of the political, social, legal and organisational context to all initiatives
  • Offering high-level advice to stakeholders to enhance project design and organisational impact
  • Building and leveraging relationships to advocate for the Hobart community and represent Council with key stakeholders

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor of Civil Engineering or equivalent and an advantage to have additional studies in business, urban planning and/or management. They will also be registered as a building practitioner and/or Chartered Engineer with Engineers Australia able to sign-off Council design.
