About the Role

The Digital System Specialist will undertake applied research, scientific experimentation, and engineering activities with Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGA) and associated electronics technologies to support the vulnerability assessment of complex digital systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, lead, and manage complex electronic, microelectronic, FPGA, and software system design, evaluation, and assessment activities.
  • Collaborate with partners in academia, industry, and other international government research labs to progress the state-of-the-art.
  • Work with Applied Specialists and Discipline Leaders to ensure R&D capabilities/activities are aligned with Defence IS&T priorities.
Requirements
  • Fundamental knowledge and experience in one or more of the following fields:
    • Electronics design / electronic design automation (EDA) tools/ test and verification
    • FPGA and/or microelectronics system design
    • Prototype development and failure analysis
