Role Overview

BAE Systems is seeking a highly skilled Firmware Engineer to join our Surveillance and Communications business unit in Adelaide, South Australia. As a key member of our hardware team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining firmware for our mission-critical defence radar systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop new VHDL firmware using industry-standard tools and methodologies.
  • Maintain and enhance existing product lines, ensuring compliance with contractual and company requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software, systems, and quality, to deliver high-quality products.
  • Undertake product-level testing and hardware integration activities to ensure seamless system operation.

Requirements
  • A university degree in an appropriate discipline, such as computer science, electrical engineering, or telecommunications engineering.
  • Proven experience in VHDL firmware development, with a strong understanding of digital signal processing and radar principles.
  • Defence security clearance or eligibility to obtain.
  • Eligibility to be cleared for International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) regulations.
