Firmware Engineer

BAE Systems is seeking a highly skilled Firmware Engineer to join our Surveillance and Communications business unit in Adelaide, South Australia. As a key member of our hardware team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining firmware for our mission-critical defence radar systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop new VHDL firmware using industry-standard tools and methodologies.
- Maintain and enhance existing product lines, ensuring compliance with contractual and company requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software, systems, and quality, to deliver high-quality products.
- Undertake product-level testing and hardware integration activities to ensure seamless system operation.
Requirements
- A university degree in an appropriate discipline, such as computer science, electrical engineering, or telecommunications engineering.
- Proven experience in VHDL firmware development, with a strong understanding of digital signal processing and radar principles.
- Defence security clearance or eligibility to obtain.
- Eligibility to be cleared for International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) regulations.
