Senior Leadership Role in Urban Forestry

This senior leadership position plays a crucial role in guiding strategic policy and urban planning projects to support a liveable city and the natural environment. As a key member of the City and Environment Directorate, you will be responsible for planning and implementing programs to deliver actions and outcomes in the Urban Forest Strategy.

The Director Policy and Planning is expected to inspire, energise, and positively influence team and individual outcomes. The successful candidate will drive positive change and contribute to the development of best practice urban design options to protect and enhance Canberra's urban forest.

As a senior leader within the City and Environment Directorate, this role requires a person who can make informed decisions, work effectively with stakeholders, and manage a team to deliver urban forestry initiatives.

To succeed in this role, the ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and the ability to motivate and lead a team. A degree in Forestry, Urban Forestry, Landscape Architecture, or Urban Park Management is highly desirable. A valid driver's licence is also essential.
