
Aboriginal Case Conferencing Program Coordinator

This role plays a pivotal part in the delivery of the Aboriginal-led Case Conferencing (ALCC) program, an early intervention initiative aimed at diverting Aboriginal families from the Child Protection system and connecting them with culturally safe support networks.
Key Responsibilities:- Coordinate and facilitate Aboriginal-led case conferences with cultural sensitivity and expertise
- Develop strong relationships with Aboriginal families, respecting their unique circumstances and cultural needs
- Collaborate effectively with community leaders, elders, and extended family networks
- Design comprehensive care plans prioritizing cultural connection and family preservation
We seek a highly motivated and culturally aware professional who has demonstrated understanding and appreciation of Aboriginal societies and cultures, and is committed to continually expanding knowledge in this area. A high level of awareness of key issues impacting Aboriginal communities is also essential.
- Proven ability to facilitate meetings and mediate outcomes with families and stakeholders
- Extensive experience working within the statutory child protection service system, including a solid grasp of relevant child protection legislation
- Excellent case management skills, including the capacity to identify risk factors and develop effective risk management strategies
Requirements include a Certificate, Diploma, or Degree qualification in Community Services, Social Work, or a related field, or significant experience working with Aboriginal communities, coupled with a willingness to pursue relevant further qualifications if necessary.
