Job Title: Aboriginal Family Support Worker

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of Aboriginal children and families. As an experienced and passionate Aboriginal Family Support Worker, you will be working closely with a Case Worker in a bi-cultural pair model to provide vital support services.

  • Provide cultural brokerage, liaison, advocacy, and support for clients to ensure coordination and facilitation of child and family appointments and follow-ups.
  • Work collaboratively with the Case Worker to develop and implement culturally sensitive plans that meet the needs of each client.

Key Responsibilities

  • Culturally support and empower families to make informed decisions about their healthcare and wellbeing.
  • Become an integral part of our multi-disciplinary team, providing a range of services including case management, advocacy, and community outreach.

Requirements

  • You must identify as an Aboriginal person and be recognized and accepted as such by the Aboriginal community.
  • Have excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate sensitively in a cross-cultural environment.
  • Demonstrate proven experience in providing support to Aboriginal children and families.
  • Possess a current Driver's Licence.
