Overview

The University of New South Wales invites applications for a Senior Faculty Position in Teaching and Research. This is an exciting opportunity to join our School of Computer Science and Engineering as an Associate Professor and contribute to shaping the future direction of computing in Australia.

We are seeking a highly accomplished academic with a proven track record in research leadership, teaching excellence, and industry engagement. As a Senior Faculty Member, you will be expected to spearhead outstanding research on both national and international levels, while delivering exceptional teaching to the next generation of computer science engineers.

Salary

The successful candidate will be offered a salary range of AUD $179,630 to $197,312 per annum, plus 17% superannuation. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package, including generous leave entitlements, professional development opportunities, and access to state-of-the-art facilities.

Job Description

In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for:

  • Leading research initiatives and collaborations with industry partners;
  • Developing and delivering high-quality courses and programs at undergraduate and postgraduate levels;
  • Mentoring and supervising students, ensuring their academic success and personal growth;
  • Engaging with industry and government stakeholders to promote research collaboration and innovation;
  • Cultivating a culture of excellence in learning and teaching within the School.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A PhD in a related discipline, or equivalent experience;
  • Proven research leadership and academic publishing credentials;
  • Exceptional teaching skills and ability to inspire students;
  • Demonstrated expertise in curriculum design and delivery;
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
