Job Summary

We are seeking an exceptional Education Leader for Teaching Excellence to join our faculty in the role of Associate Dean Learning and Teaching. This is a part-time position (0.7 FTE) on a fixed-term 3-year contract.

Role Description

The Associate Dean Learning and Teaching will provide leadership in learning and teaching within the Faculty of Education, Philosophy and Theology. Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing leadership and expertise to the Faculty in learning and teaching to ensure effective development and implementation of the annual Faculty Plan from a learning and teaching perspective.
  • Designing, delivering, and reviewing high-quality course and assessment design development, delivery, and review, aligned with pedagogical principles.
  • Promoting best practice learning and teaching strategies and plans.
  • Leading a dispersed team of Faculty staff in learning and teaching frameworks and associated strategies.
Key Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A recognised record of scholarly achievement in the scholarship of learning and teaching.
  • Demonstrated track record in higher education leadership and management.
  • Excellent academic and research qualifications.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, including commercial acumen and alignment to performance goals.
  • Well-developed capability to contribute and drive excellence in teaching and learning, research, stakeholder engagement, and collaboration across the Faculty and University.
