The University of New South Wales (UNSW) is a leading research and teaching institution in Australia, with over 52,000 students from more than 130 countries.

As a Health & Safety Business Partner, you will support the Faculty of Science and Faculty of Medicine, providing guidance on all matters related to health and safety. You will partner with senior management and executives to demonstrate visible leadership and enhance safety as a core value.

In this role, you will monitor and maintain safety performance, insights, trends, and culture, as well as lead and coordinate serious incident response and investigations in conjunction with supervisors and H&S reps.

You will also develop and review health and safety policies and procedures, ensuring compliance and aligning all safety actions with the university's core values and expectations.

This is an exciting opportunity to join Zenergy as a Health & Safety Business Partner, supporting the Faculty of Science and Faculty of Medicine at UNSW.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide guidance and support for senior executives and management to demonstrate safety leadership
  • Produce relevant and accurate reports on hazards and significant incidents
  • Lead and coordinate serious incident response
  • Ensure faculty senior management regularly discuss safety performance, insights, trends, and encourage a positive safety culture
  • Develop and review health and safety policies and procedures and ensure compliance
  • Act as a safety representative for the faculty in leadership meetings as required
  • Align all safety actions with the universities' core values and expectations

Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Work Health and Safety
  • Developed knowledge of WHS legislation and standards
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft suite of applications and ability to use and implement new systems
  • Ability to set priorities, establish and achieve agreed objectives
  • Knowledge and experience of ICAM investigations
  • Strong interpersonal skills, stakeholder management experience

Salary Range:$120,000 - $150,000 per annum, dependent on experience.
